I would like to hire a marquee – what size will I need?

One of the most important aspects when planning a function and when you hire a marquee is getting the correct size. If you hire a marquee that is too large, it can feel as if not enough people have attended, if you hire a marquee that is too small, people are cramped for space. Through our many years experience we can recommend the correct amount of space you will require. If your event is catered, you may also need to hire a marquee for the caterers to work in. When I hire a marquee, what are the different table options available?

If you would like to hire a marquee for a wedding and require a top table we recommend 3 x trestle tables which will seat 10 people. Trestle tables (6' x 2'6") can also be arranged for banquet style seating. We recommend 10 guests around a 6ft table, 8 guests around a 5ft table, 6 guests around a 4ft table, 6 guests on a 6ft trestle table.

How far in advance will I need to book if I hire a marquee for my event?

April to September is the busiest time for people to hire a marquee and there will be dates during this period which become booked up over a year in advance. However, 6 months is usually a reasonable amount of time to allow when you have chosen to hire a marquee.

When I hire a marquee when will it be erected?

When you hire a marquee we always aim to have the build complete so that caterers/ florists etc have at least a day prior to the event.

If I hire a marquee will it damage the garden?

When you hire a marquee from Millie Miles Marquee Hire we always take every care not to damage a client's garden. During the summer grass may be discoloured for up to 2 weeks after an event depending on how long the marquee has been up.

Do I pay extra for sidewalls or windows when I hire a marquee?

No, these are all included in the price when you hire a marquee from Millie Miles Marquee Hire.

What do I put on the floor of the Marquee?

This depends on the weather and type of event you would like to hire a marquee for. Most Wedding Marquees require carpeting, but less formal events work perfectly well with coconut matting.

What about Marquee heating, can you provide this when I hire a marquee?

Yes, when you hire a marquee we can also supply the very latest thermostatically controlled heating systems.

What about electricity, can you provide this when I hire a marquee?

Yes, we provide circuit breakers and all we require is a standard plug point for most situations, for larger events a generator can be booked with Millie Miles Event Hire when you hire a marquee.

When I hire a marquee can I also hire toilets?

Yes we do hire luxury toilets and country classic toilets toilet hire.

Do I need public liability or event insurance when I hire a marquee?

Millie Miles Marquee Hire has public and products liability insurance with an indemnity limit of £1m. However, the client is responsible for the company's equipment during the hire period and may feel it necessary to arrange insurance accordingly. We can offer a damage waiver if you require.
